Thomas P. Riley, DMD
Dr. Thomas Riley, a prominent Summerville dentist, considers himself a homegrown ‘Summervillian’ through and through. His exposure to the community extends far back, as he attended Summerville High School, played soccer for the Summerville Soccer Club, and went to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church while growing up. He then went on to attend Auburn University and the College of Charleston, where he finished with a degree in Chemistry.
Prior to becoming an active member of the Summerville dentistry community, Dr. Riley graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina.
In 2007, Dr. Riley and his wife Natalie opened Azalea Dental in an effort to serve the growing dental needs of the community. It is also through this practice that Dr. Riley aims to establish himself as a compassionate and caring practitioner. His vision is not just to be another dentist, but also someone who is part of the area’s traditions and community. Dr. Riley is a true Summerville native and understands the community’s needs.
Dr. Riley believes in delivering the highest level of dental care with a personal touch to every patient who seeks his help. The team at Azalea Dental understands that dentistry can be overwhelming. Led by Dr. Riley, everyone on the Azalea Dental team takes the time to understand each patient’s point of view and unique dental situation to ensure a comfortable and pleasurable experience.
Lauren Fowler , DDS
Dr. Lauren Fowler grew up in southwest Virginia and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. She then attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where she graduated at the top of her class as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. After dental school, she moved to Charleston and completed her residency training in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina, serving as a chief resident.
Dr. Fowler has a passion for delivering the highest level of care and for helping patients achieve and maintain a healthy and confident smile. She enjoys building relationships with patients of all ages, and has experience working with kids! She strives to stay current with new technology and materials, and regularly attends continuing education courses. She feels strongly about giving back to the community through local dental clinics and mission trips. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, South Carolina Dental Association, and Coastal District Dental Society.
Dr. Fowler and her husband, Jason, a South Carolina native, reside in Mount Pleasant with their 2-year-old son Gray, and their two dogs, Birdie and Scout. They are expecting their second child this Spring! In her free time, their family enjoys beaching, boating, golfing, exploring the outdoors, and cheering on the Virginia Cavaliers and Clemson Tigers.
Megan Thompson
Insurance & Financial Coordinator
Megan joined Azalea Dental in 2015. She was born and raised in the low country. She is a former dental assistant and graduated #1 in her class at Palmetto School of Career Development and also has an Associate’s Degree from Trident Technical College. Megan enjoys getting to know our patients and helping them with any questions they may have regarding their dental insurance or treatment.
When Megan isn’t helping our patients, she is spending time with her husband Brad, daughter Kinley, and new baby boy Brice. She also has two fur babies named Buddy and Daisy.
Lauren Mims
Scheduling Coordinator
Lauren is a graduate of the Dental Assisting Training School of South Carolina. She began her career with Azalea Dental in 2018 as a dental assistant and is now a friendly face at reception as the scheduling coordinator. Lauren was born and raised in Ridgeville, SC but now resides in Harleyville, SC with her husband Justin and two fur babies Nelly and Remi. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and just relaxing.
Pam Johnson, RDH
Hygienist
Pam is a registered dental hygienist who has been with us since 2014. She is a native of South Carolina. She is a graduate of Trident Technical College with an associate degree in Allied Health Science. When she is not working, she enjoys spending her time with her husband Jeremiah and their daughter Ashlynn. Her cheerful personality and gentle touch will make your dental visit an enjoyable experience.
Isla Brisbin, RDH
Hygienist
Isla is a registered dental hygienist with an associate degree in Allied Health from Trident Technical College. She is native to the low country and loves to spend time with her family and friends. When she isn’t at work, she is usually enjoying the outdoors with her husband, daughter and pups. Isla’s compassion and gentle touch will put the most anxious patient at ease while building a strong relationship with everyone she meets. She enjoys educating patients on dental care and their oral health.
Rachel Wright, RDH
Hygienist
Rachel graduated from Florence-Darlington Technical College with a degree in Allied Health Science and is currently a registered dental hygienist. She and Daisy, her basset hound, currently reside in Walterboro, South Carolina. Rachel is usually on the water or hanging out with friends and family when she is not working.
Jen Gash, DA
Dental Assistant
Jen is originally from New England and moved to South Carolina in 2005. She loves dental assisting and has been in the dental field for 12 years and with Azalea Dental for 10 of them. No one likes to go to the dentist, but Jen will change your experience into a fun and comfortable one where you will love to come back. When she is not working, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and son Brody, by going out on the boat, beach and vacations.
Torrii Huseman, DA
Dental Assistant
Torrii began her career with Azalea Dental in 2021 as an on-the-job trainee. While currently assisting, she is also pursuing a career in cosmetology. Torrii was born and raised in Ridgeville, SC but now resides in Harleyville, SC with her fur babies Camry and Cooper. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors or on the water.
